The Power of Words: Dissemination Explained

“Disseminate” is what I heard him say. I tilted my head as I often do when I am deep in thought and contemplating something. Disseminate? Do I even know what that means? I’m sure I do, somewhere in the recesses of my brain. But, lately, I have become an immature cliffhanger; I’m literally hanging on his every word, and it sucks. My hands haven’t calloused yet, they’re incredibly tender, and I certainly don’t have the skill to hold on for too long. So, like I usually do, I quickly jotted down what he said next before I lost my grip and the revelation along with it. “Disseminate my word.” 

I didn’t want to miss a thing, so I asked my best friend, Google, to ensure I captured the context of what he was saying. It means to spread something widely (especially information.) And then I get the message loud and clear. To disseminate his word means to pass out weaponry. His word has impact, and just like all other weaponry, it’s mighty, powerful, and ready for use. I keep hearing my thoughts, “And isn’t it like him to give us the simplest and least demanding of weapons; his word.” 
“Yes, Sir,” I say, even if it’s feeble and weak, and there’s no one around to see or hear it. And then I see it. I see myself sitting in the desert in complete military gear, helmet and all, thirsty, tired, dirty, and just as annoyed with the sun as I am with the isolation. I’m sitting on a rock in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by unfathomable military-grade weaponry, and I am waiting for a passerby, not knowing if they will be a friend or a foe but begrudgingly willing to equip them anyway.
